Se
puede poner la oración con 'if' primero sin alterar el significado. En este
caso, se coloca normalmente una coma.
If we hadn’t got married, we
would have been happier.
Si nos hubiéramos casado, habríamos sido más felices
If I had taken skiing lessons, I wouldn’t have fallen over.
Si hubiera tomado lecciones de skí no me habría caído.
Se
puede usar también may have, might have y could have si la
conclusión es poco probable.
If I had studied harder at school, I might have been able to go to university.
Si hubiera estudiado más en el instituto, podría haber ido a la universidad.
Cambia la forma de los siguientes verbos. Sigue el
ejemplo.
Ej. If you (phone) the restaurant, we
(get) a table.
If you had phoned the restaurant, we would have got a table.

mixed conditionals son una mezcla del segundo conditional y el tercero. Pueden hablar de una situación en el pasado y un
resultado probable o posible en el presente.
If you had taken my advice, you
wouldn’t be in trouble now.
Si hubieras seguido mi consejo antes, no estarías en un lío ahora.
