Partner
Your ‘partner’ can be your wife, husband, boyfriend or girlfriend. It’s also possible to have a business partner, but in the following text ‘partner’ means the special person in your life.

You are walking to your partner’s house. There are two roads to get there. One
(a) is a straight road which takes you there quickly, but it is very boring and
uninteresting. The other (b) is longer, but it is full of wonderful and
interesting things. Which one do you take to get your partner’s house, the
short road or the longer, more attractive one?

2. You are walking along the road and you see a lot of roses. There are red roses and white roses. You decide to pick 20 roses for your partner, of any colour combination. How many red roses and how many white roses do you pick? (you can pick all of one colour or any combination of the two)

3. You finally get to your partner’s house. Someone from your partner’s family answers the door. You can ask them to get your
partner, or immediately offer to go to your partner yourself. What do you do?

es un adjetivo, normalmente no se usa antes de un nombre.

Los verbos
to awake, to waken y to awaken se emplean generalmente en lenguaje formal o
escrito. La forma mas normal en lenguaje hablado es
'to wake'.
'Awake' puede tambier tener la significación de consciencia de un
riesgo o peligro.

cuenta de algo, percibir el peligro. Straight, además de
la significación de 'recto' en el sentido geométrico, puede tener
también en inglés la misma connotación que en español de 'formal,
serio, honrado'.
