Rick and The Robbery

Rick the private detective awakened at seven o’clock when his alarm clock sounded, and arose immediately. It was not an ordinary day.

He removed a cigarette from the pack of Marlboro next to the bed and opened the radio. It was cold. There was ice on the inside of the windows of his rented flat.

Rick took the radio in his hands and entered the kitchen. He pressed the button on the kettle and removed a jar of instant coffee from the dirty green cupboard.

Rick arrived at a sitting position at the kitchen table and raised the receiver of the dirty black telephone.

He asked the switchboard operator at CNN to connect him to Blondie Titterton. The familiar voice of Rick’s contact was sweet and sexy.

“Oh Rick , yes I’m afraid it’s true. Life will be different for all of us now. Rick, I’m so scared!”
“Don’t worry sweetheart.” Said Rick, extinguishing his cigarette. “I’m gonna fix everything baby.” Blondie and Rick had a good relationship.

Rick put himself in a standing position and dressed himself with his jacket. Just before he closed the radio he heard the end of the news broadcast.

Rick closed the door and descended the stairs. He tried to smile as he entered the taxi. It was going to be a long day.
