- Hello Wendy, welcome to Mansión Inglés. What do you do for a living?
- I’m an insurance broker.
- And, what are your hours?
- Erm…my actual hours are nine ‘till five, but I generally work something like eight to five-thirty or six. It depends on how busy I am.
- Do you work weekends?
- Never.
- Er…is your job well-paid?
- Yes, I think it is.
- And what do you like about your job?
- Erm…I’ve been doing it an awful long time. I’ve been in the industry for about twelve years, so the fact that I can do the job very easily without too much effort is probably what I like about it most. Insurance isn’t the most exiting industry, so I couldn’t say too much about that, but it’s probably because it’s easy and I can do it, and I can get paid well for it, really.
- And what don’t you like about it?
- Er.. the London insurance market at the moment is very, very difficult to work in, erm.. I have to deal with an awful lot of people that erm.. are sometimes a little arrogant, sometimes a little obnoxious.
- Wendy, if you weren’t an insurance broker, what would you like to do?
- It’s completely different, erm.. I would probably like to have a little shop somewhere… tea rooms, very English, tea rooms, I….
- In the country or in the city?
- In.. in the countryside. I’d like to have a tea rooms serving tea and cakes.
- Well, I hope you’ll be well insured.
- Most definitely.
