- Hello Pat, welcome to La Mansión del Ingles. Tell us
..erm… how long you... you
for when you… when you were a nurse in England. - I initially done a two-year cadet nursing course, and then I done a three year registration course.
- And at the end of the course when you
exams, were the exams difficult to ? - Well, I can say now they weren’t because I them, but yes, in fact I think they were quite difficult.
- Did you have to do exams? - You did indeed. Every eight weeks, on where you were working, you had..er.. practice to do.
- Right, did you meet many people from other countries studying with you? - Not speaking, no. Not in the area that I worked.
- And.. er.. what would you give any foreign students who were thinking of coming to the UK as nurses? Are there opportunities for nurses now, do you think? - With the shortage of nurses now in England, there’re great opportunities for any foreign nurses, yes.
- And what would you them to do when they arrive? - Er.. the first thing they have to do is to to the nursing council, the UKCC, and they will put them in the right of where to go in order to get a job.
- Great, well that's very helpful, thank you.
- You’re welcome.
