Fast food? Yeah I do like Fast food. But I have a problem with it
because I know it’s bad for me. I mean you hear it all the time, don’t
you? Too much fat and sugar. The cholesterol is bad for your heart and
it clogs up your arteries. But I like the taste. I like McDonalds, Pizza
Hut and those kebab places. I don’t feel guilty when I’m eating it, but
I do after. It’s instant gratification I suppose. Suddenly, I fancy a
hamburger or a pizza. It’s easy and quick, but I usually regret it after.
It’s a craving, I get fast food cravings.
The thing is, I don’t eat fast food as much as I used to. My
girlfriend’s Spanish, and she’s a really good cook. She hates fast food,
so we only really eat it if there’s no other choice. I mean, if we’re
out somewhere and there are no other restaurants around, or if we’re
abroad really far away somewhere, or maybe in a really expensive city,
perhaps, where you know that McDonalds is probably the cheapest option.
It’s convenient, and you know what you’re getting, don’t you? It’s a
safe bet. Even if it is rubbish, it’s rubbish you know.
Now pizza, well there’s pizza and there’s pizza. Homemade pizza is great.
Good Italian pizza with real mozzarella cheese and anchovies. Fantastic,
I’d rather have that. Pizza Hut or Dominoes pizza tastes sort of
synthetic and greasy. It’s just that, occasionally, maybe once every
couple of months, I really fancy a pizza, any pizza; especially if I’ve
had a few beers before.
I don’t think I’ve really got a favourite fast food meal. It depends on
my mood, on what I fancy. McDonald’s, a pizza, a Chinese take away, a
kebab erm…a curry. Maybe a good curry after a few pints of beer is the
best. But I’m not sure if curry is fast food exactly. I don’t think it
is, no. It’s pretty fast when it comes out of your body, though;
especially after a few pints of Guinness
