Third Conditional

Oración Principal would have + participio pasado (past participle)	Oración con 'if' El tiempo pretérito pluscuamperfecto (past perfect tense)
I wouldn't have fallen over We would have been happier	If I had taken skiing lessons. If we hadn't got married. NOT ~~If we wouldn't have got ...~~

Se puede poner la oración con 'if' primero sin alterar el significado. En este caso, se coloca normalmente una coma.

If we hadn’t got married, we would have been happier.
Si nos hubiéramos casado, habríamos sido más felices
If I had taken skiing lessons, I wouldn’t have fallen over.
Si hubiera tomado lecciones de skí no me habría caído.

Se puede usar también may have, might have y could have si la conclusión es poco probable.

If I had studied harder at school, I might have been able to go to university.
Si hubiera estudiado más en el instituto, podría haber ido a la universidad.

Cambia la forma de los siguientes verbos. Sigue el ejemplo.

Ej. If you (phone) the restaurant, we (get) a table.
If you had phoned the restaurant, we would have got a table.

1. If the weather (be) better, we (have) lunch outside.

2. If I (come) to live in Spain, I (meet) my wife.

3. We (not arrive) late if I had been driving.

4. We (buy) a bigger flat if we (have) the money.

5. If you (remind) me, I (forget).

6. Madrid (not win) if Figo (play).

7. If I (marry) Judith, I (have) at least two children.

8. I (buy) so much chocolate if I (know) you were on a diet.

Mixed Conditional

Oración Principal would + infinitivo (sin 'to')	Oración con 'if' El tiempo pretérito pluscuamperfecto (past perfect tense)
I would know how to ski (now) We would be happier (now)	If I had taken skiing lessons. If we hadn’t got married. NOT ~~If we wouldn’t have got ...~~

Los mixed conditionals son una mezcla del segundo conditional y el tercero. Pueden hablar de una situación en el pasado y un resultado probable o posible en el presente.

If you had taken my advice, you wouldn’t be in trouble now.
Si hubieras seguido mi consejo antes, no estarías en un lío ahora.

Write a sentence with 'if' for the following situations. Follow the example.

Ej. I went to bed late. Now I’m tired.
If I hadn’t gone to bed late, I wouldn’t be tired.

1. I drank too much whiskey. Now I’ve got a hangover. 2. There isn’t enough food. I didn’t know you were coming. 3. We borrowed money from our parents. We were able to buy the flat. 4. You ate too much chocolate last month. Now you’re fat. 5. I bought a new computer. Now I’m studying with La Mansión del Inglés. 6. I feel so healthy now that I’ve stopped smoking. 7. I didn’t know you were in hospital. I didn’t visit you. 8. I didn’t know you were so selfish. I married you.
